Vanpool costs

Vanpools typically operate on a monthly fare. Instead of sinking money into your personal vehicle to pay for fuel, maintenance, and insurance, as well as the costs of depreciation, vanpoolers pay a monthly fee that covers all those costs by sharing them among other riders in the van.shuttle_parking-icon

Here are some rates for commuting to CSU from surrounding communities each month. Vanpool monthly fare includes use of the van, fuel for the van, maintenance for the van, and insurance for the van.

  • Downtown Denver area and metro north area to CSU – $234
  • Boulder and Longmont to CSU – $183
  • Greeley, Evans, Johnstown, and Milliken – $142
  • Windsor, Loveland, and Berthoud – $114
  • Wellington – $100

Test ride before you commit

Want to confirm the cost savings? Most vanpool providers will allow you to test drive a current vanpool. This can be arranged for free but will require communication with the vanpool and online enrollment.

Additional incentives are also available through some vanpool programs to encourage rider membership. These discounts are usually given to existing and new members after two months. This is a way to reduce your costs while increasing the amount of individuals that are participating in the vanpool program.
