Cycling safely

Colorado State University encourages students to ride as safely as possible. This means being properly outfitted when you hit the road, paths, and trails. We want you to be aware of the necessities for safe riding on and off campus:

  • A helmet.
  • Lights on both the front and back of your bike.
  • Reflective gear on your bicycle and clothing.
  • A pant clip so that no material gets stuck in your gears.

We also encourage additional gear such as eye wear and gloves.

Finally, pumps and repair kits are a good idea for you to keep your bicycle in the best working order. Getting a regular tune-up helps ensure a safer cycling experience. If you ever need access to a tool or air pump on campus, you also have the option of using one of the Fix-it stands located around campus.
